Gallery+Walk+After-Party+Features+Folk+

Bay City's First Thursday Gallery Walk "Art of Women" will be extending into the night. The Gallery Walk usually runs from 5-8 p.m. in Downtown Bay City, but this month e. (a.k.a. Erin Case) is holding an after-party, from 8:30 until midnight, at Object D'Aarts Gallery and Studio (810 Washington Street). The cost is only a $3 donation, which will go directly to the performing musicians, and to support the nonprofit gallery. Object D' Aarts will also be accepting donations of new or used art supplies.

Along with a belly dancing troupe gyrating on the floor between musical acts and art from local artists on display on the walls, a variety of music will flow: feel good sounds from the female-fronted Cotton Lilly (folk/shoegaze from Macomb, MI) will launch the evening. Janet Lilly performs on banjo, guitar, rhymes; Laura Lilly on glockenspiel, keytar, tambourine, maraca's, rainstick, shakers (background vocalist, tapdancer and occasional oooo's); Jeremy Lilly on drums and mandolin; Marvin Lilly on bass and happy smiles! For a preview, listen at  www.myspace.com/cottonlillyweatherman.

Next Ian Saylor, an acoustic/folk musician from Brooklyn, NY will pick up the pace with his lyrical and philosophical musings (www.myspace.com/iansaylor). Finally, experimental folk rockers Morseville Bridge of Flint, MI, will turn up the sound in a big way. Named for an abandoned span that crosses the Burt River, Morseville Bridge's lineup includes Ryan Gregory on guitar, Mark Gregorio on bass, and Thomas Hartwell on drums. Morseville Bridge can be found on www.myspace.com/morsevillebridge and its recently shot a video at http://vimeo.com/7902804.
