Peter Karoly was born the week Tony Bennett's “Rags to Riches” topped the Billboard charts. A graduate of Handy H.S., Central Michigan University, and Marygrove College, he is overeducated and underdegreed. A Bay City schools teacher for 21 years, he is a former newspaperman who has collected over 5,000 albums. He believes, “More is better but vinyl is best.”

Every year the Friends of the Bay County Librairies organization sponsors a mammoth book sale at the Hampton Towne Centre in Essexville. This year the sale runs from August 6 to 9.
